The Love Dance

The Love Dance

by Lori Ann Gonzales

He knows not what to think or say

Scorned with fear and shallow breaths

He states he is moving on and away

To find another to fill his depths

She suffers from fear she has failed

Her heart swollen with anger and pain

To find his betrayal leaving her derailed

Believing in his lies for his gain

How is this man to be trusted

She sits in tears, hallowed with love

Feeling broken, torn, and busted

Until she feels the warmth from the sky above

The man returns and cries for her gentle touch

As she flies high above with a dove

He fills with regret, sorrow, and pain and such

Begging for forgiveness, eyes filled with love

She stops and returns to hear him say

Words he should have told her before his shame

He opens his arms to give her the way

To lead him back and restore his claim

He wraps his arms around her tightly

Knowing he must never let go

For she may turn ever so slightly

Gone again without him to know

Soul Connection Experience

by Lori Ann Gonzales The soulmate connections.  The flashing stars and lights that go off when we meet a particular person giving us the feeling we've known them forever.  A best friend.  The person that seemingly likes almost everything we do and wants the same things as we do.  The similar emotional palate, along with the added flavors of life itself.  The mirror of whom we appear to be, reflecting at us—the perfect couple to outsiders as they gaze in, believing in the restored hope of love. Perhaps it's serendipity?  If we are lucky, we choose the soul life partner that makes us soar.  While other soulmate relationships fulfill a cycle, ending all that was once the humanistic version of perfection.  Soul connection relationships are challenging typically because one or the other gets injured.  If they part ways, both will move forward into new relationships when they are ready. Many of the soul connections have a tremendous amount of argui...

"Home Is In The Air"

by Lori Ann Gonzales   I can’t stop thinking about them.  Everywhere I turn, I see their name.  I look to the left, and it’s shining on a streetlamp like a holiday decoration.  I look to the right, and across the road, plastered on a tall building, is the state name where they live.  I had to do a double-take to comprehend that one and a few others throughout our time apart.  It can be day or night, raining or shining; they are always lurking in the back of my mind. Sometimes I think I hear them – speaking to me. In my head! Like they shrunk into this little, tiny person and start a conversation asking me questions in the present day. It’s never questions or discussions that include the past. Instead, it’s focused on the now and the future. Don’t get me wrong, there were times I heard a faint apology, even crying at one point. A few times, I doubled over in pain, and it was their face I was seeing in front of me.  Meeting my deeply intertwined soul con...
